Lies are like Grave Clothes.

Lies always have one purpose above all others – to keep us bound and restrained from the truth, because only the truth sets us free. Indeed, nothing else keeps us free. John 8:32 (NKJV) says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 11:44 (NKJV) says this, speaking of Lazarus when Jesus raised him from the dead: “And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

Lies are like the grave clothes that bound the resurrected Lazarus, when he came out from his tomb. In Christ, we have the freedom that comes from believing Jesus is who He says He is. As we begin to walk in this truth, we rid ourselves of the grave clothes of sorrow, regret, guilt or shame that we may wear from our pasts. We remove these boundaries, roadblocks and paralyzing restraints. Don’t allow the past to lie to you about your future. It’s unlimited because your freedom in Christ has no limits, except those that come from doubt, unbelief or disobedience. I’m Dr. Bob. The past is never qualified to determine your future, unless you give it permission to do so. What are we supposed to be free to do with the truth, as we walk into our futures? The answer is simple and powerful. Through faith, we are to move ahead in the truth, glorifying God… and horrifying the devil!
