For just a Mentoring Minute, I would like to share with you my thoughts on Psalm 91, Verses 1-2, which bring us great assurances of safety and security.
Psalm 91:1-2 (NKJV)
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. {2} I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
As I began to think about this “secret place of the Most High” that the psalm speaks of, a picture formed in my mind. It was of a kid, who has a tree house her father built, especially for her. It is a place to get high above the child’s daily world and safely abide, imagining all kinds of wonderful things. At times, her father might climb up and join in the fun. It is a wonderful place that is always there for the child to spend time and let her imagination run free. In many ways, “the secret place of the Most High” is such a place for the child of God. It offers the delights of all our heavenly Father has created for us. It is our place of safety in which we can spend time with God, trusting Him and leaving the cares of the world behind. I’m Dr. Bob. I know the Lord has such a place, ready to welcome you. It is a place where you can just be a kid in God’s tree house.
