In a recent sermon, my pastor, Dr. Tom Peters, gave this definition of prosperity. He said, “Prosperity is defined as, “Being secure in your source.”” I have given this some thought and cannot find a better definition… as long as your source is God, alone. If this definition is to be personally valid for you 100% of the time, two things must be true. First, you must have absolute trust in your source. Second, the source in which you trust must be completely capable and always willing to keep you secure.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; {6} In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Psalms 91:2 (NKJV) says, “I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.””
If you have been around my ministry, you have probably heard me speak of the threefold awesome name of God. I always say it this way. “His first name is Faithful. His middle name is Faithful. His last name is Faithful. He is Faithful Faithful Faithful.” There are so many biblical names that support my conclusion. I strongly suggest you make a project of finding as many of them as you can. Then, make yourself a list that you can refer to when you need to boost your trust in Him. I’m Dr. Bob. I suggest you start your list with Isaiah 9:6. Put Matthew 1:23 on it and then add a couple dozen more. You will probably find the list is never ending. That is because His faithfulness is never ending. Reflect on this.
