Get Moving

I would like to share a thought I heard near the end of 2012. I heard it as I was listening to my young friend, Pastor Dan Grittner preach. He is on his way to being an earth shaker and devil breaker. As I listened, I was deeply touched by what he said. Listen carefully. He said, “You will discover your purpose and find your place by movement from where you are to where you should be going. This is best begun by serving someone else’s purpose.” Then, he said, “Get moving!” That was a piece of inspirational wisdom and truth that I could not shake.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) says, “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:” Psalms 20:4 (NKJV) says, “May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.”

We all need to hear this kind of encouraging instruction from time to time. It speaks of the value of momentum in our service to God. Once you are moving, you will discover areas of your purpose that can only be found by experience. Along the way, you will discover the depths of purpose God has prepared for you. The greatest of these discoveries comes as you serve others in their purposes. I’m Dr. Bob. If you have been looking for fresh purpose or an indication of direction for your life, I would encourage you to seek fresh and faithful service in somebody else’s purpose. Reflect on this. What could you do to get things moving?
