A Mosaic of Memories – Dr. Bob’s Three Hundredth Mentoring Minute

I’m Dr. Bob. This is the three hundredth Mentoring Minute. Have you considered what you will leave behind when your days are finished and you move on to eternity? Hey, we are all headed there. A legacy does not begin with the end of things. It starts and is built in the now. When you are gone, the complete legacy of your life will remain, and it will represent how you touched your world. It will cover all of your activities and every one of your opportunities to be an influence to those you encountered. It will define how people will remember you. John 15:16 (NKJV) records Jesus saying, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain…”

At a recent memorial service I attended, I heard Pastor David Briggs say, “You will be a mosaic of the memories of those who knew you.” A mosaic is made of diverse elements that form an image. It can be a good image or one not so good. The greatest impression you can leave behind, when you eventually move on to eternity, will be a mosaic of memories in those God brought across your path. Everything you say, all that you are and all that you do, will represent individual pieces in the mosaic of your life. Taken as a whole, they will give an eternal picture of how you influenced your world in the time you had here on earth. I’m Dr. Bob. Here is the point of this Mentoring Minute. The only one who can create and arrange the pieces in your life’s mosaic is you. Now that is worth some careful meditation. Selah.
