I was talking with a couple friends about those who find themselves in churches that do not fulfill their responsibility to teach the depths of the Word of God. One of my friends, mentioned that someone he knew had spent years, content to receive ministry that lacked good, strong biblical teaching. The person finally recognized this to be a problem. He realized he had been fed from a shallow bowl for far too long. Now, he was fed up! He realized he had been fed a diet lacking in substance. Now, he wanted something deeper. Hebrews 5:13-14 (NKJV) compares shallow biblical teaching to drinking milk instead of eating meat. It says, “For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. {14} But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Here is some solid Spiritual Food for Thought. There is no substitute for the wholesome nourishment that you get from a diet of properly taught Scriptures. Do not settle for anything less. If you do, you will find that, one day, you will be fed up with what you have been fed. Find a good Bible teaching church. Plant yourself in it and flourish. I’m Dr. Bob. Have you checked what the depths are of the Word you are being fed lately? Reflect on whether you are growing in Christian maturity, as you should.
