A Call to God – A Call from God

When you need to call out to God, or sense Him calling to you, don’t go to the Phone. Go to the throne. Get on your face before God and cry “Holy!” Then, do not be in a hurry to say anything to Him. Be still and listen. He will speak to you soon enough; and you will have an encounter with Him that could change your life. The key to this encounter is to listen a whole lot more than you speak. I know that is hard. We all seem to have too much to say. I have found that listening requires two things. First, it requires the discipline to keep silent; and second, the patience to hear, even if it takes some time. I love to read Psalm 46 in the morning before I start my day. Here are two verses in which God speaks to me as I do.

Psalms 46:1 (NKJV) “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:10 (NKJV) “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Never doubt the importance of hearing God. He will have something to say to you. If you are patient, you will hear His voice clearly in your heart. In whatever manner He chooses to speak, it is always a divine call, straight from His throne. After you receive His message, embrace what He said. Whatever He has spoken will carry in it the potential for an eternal blessing. Receive it in faith and obedience and do not let go of it until it comes to pass. I’m Dr. Bob. I am not saying this is always easy, but I am saying it is always the correct and fruitful thing to do.
