A limited access highway is designed to have only a few intersections and crossroads. These are limited access points that have been designed by the engineers and road builders. They provide for safety and an efficient flow of the traffic the highway was designed to carry. As someone who walks with God, your path is designed by the Lord to be a limited access highway. It is intended to be restricted in ways that only allow those things that please God to travel on it. However, there are times when we all permit unauthorized things (or people) to travel with us. God never desired these to be our traveling companions.
Psalms 37:23 (NLT) says, “The steps of the godly are directed by the LORD. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
The path you walk is your gift from your heavenly Father. It is favored with His presence and leads to His blessings. Along the way, He permits certain forces onto the path and prohibits others. You can know what He permits to travel with you. All you need to do is keep your ear tuned to God’s divine “GPS” system. It will never lead you astray. It will always point you in the right direction. I’m Dr. Bob. Do not turn to the right or left because you decided to try a shortcut. Stay on course all the way home. You will be eternally glad that you did. Now, consider your current traveling companions (the things and people) who are on your road. Reflect on whether they had legitimate limited access. Then reflect on whether you have God’s divine “GPS” system turned on.
