I’m Dr. Bob and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to share with you a thought about the patience of God. On occasion, we behave just like small children and find ourselves complaining to God. It has always amazed me how He listens patiently and allows us to vent our frustrations. There are certainly times when we have reason to feel frustrated. However, there are other times when we may be simply expressing pride-driven, self-centered emotional outbursts. In all of this, God lovingly listens until we are finished. Then, He must sigh and thinks to Himself, “Are you done yet?” If we are, He speaks to our hearts with some sound, encouraging advice. It is always full of His compassion and overflowing with wisdom. I suggest we stop talking so much and start listening just a little bit more. As we silence our voices, our hearts will open to hear His voice. You can be sure that within His voice we will recognize loving, wise counsel. When we allow ourselves to receive it, it will change our hearts and enable us to continue on the path to victory. We are, after all, His champions on a mission. I’m Dr. Bob. You can listen to my previous Mentoring Minutes at http://www.mentoringminutes.com/blogs.
