Stinking Thinking

I’m Dr. Bob, and for just a Mentoring Minute, I want to tell you about a conversation that I recently had with some friends about the refrigerator in their office. We were talking about how nasty it had become because it was seldom cleaned out. Because it was not cleaned on a regular basis, it became a breeding ground for corruption. It made me think of the importance of guarding our minds against anything that breeds destructive ideas and corruption in our character. Galatians 6:8 (NKJV) says, “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” Romans 8:6 (NKJV) says, “to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” If there are thoughts you have given a home to that are carnal and corrupting, they are what I call “stinking thinking.” Is it time to clean anything out of your mind? If so, do not delay. I’m Dr. Bob. Make every thought spiritually fresh… or just dump it. Your thoughts and words will become a sweet aroma in the nostrils of God, and of all those around you.
