Fish in a Tank

I just came back from visiting my daughter and her family. My son-in-law has a beautiful salt-water fish tank. It’s filled with fantastic corals and colorful fish. As I sat in the living room, looking at it, God began to speak to me. The tank was a metaphor for how life and ministry can be. The fish in the tank just swim until they come close to the glass walls and then turn and swim the other way. Their environment (the quality of the water, salt content, oxygen and temperature) is beyond their control. Their lives are circular – they get an occasional meal and repeatedly visit the places they have been to (same thing over and over). What is your life and ministry like? Is it time to revisit your environment, your routines and most of all, your hopes and dreams? Let me know what you think.
